Checklist for Submissions

Pre-Submission

  1. Cover Letter:

    • Disclose any earlier submissions or publications with similar material.
    • Declare conflicts of interest for all authors.
    • Provide names and contact details of 2-3 potential reviewers.
  2. Declarations of Authorship:

    • Include a distinct declaration for each author.
  3. Title Page:

    • Article title.
    • Full names, degrees, and affiliations of all authors.
    • Corresponding author’s contact details (address, email, phone).
    • Acknowledgment of funding sources and support.
    • Clinical trial registry site and number.
    • List of abbreviations.

Manuscript Preparation

  1. Abstract:

    • 200-250 words summarizing objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
    • Include 4-6 keywords in alphabetical order.
  2. Main Sections:

    • Introduction: Clear aim and background.
    • Materials and Methods: Detailed procedures, ethical approval for animal studies.
    • Results and Discussion: Present data without duplication; discuss findings in context.
    • Conclusion: Highlight main findings and their importance.
  3. References:

    • Maximum 75 for research articles and 100 for reviews.
    • Follow Vancouver referencing style.
    • Ensure all citations match the reference list.
  4. Tables and Figures:

    • Numbered with Arabic numerals; include titles and footnotes as needed.
    • Figures should be self-explanatory, with captions below.
  5. Abbreviations:

    • Use standard abbreviations; define nonstandard ones upon first use.

Final Checks

  1. Acknowledgments: Include support acknowledgments at the end of the manuscript.

  2. Conflict of Interest: List potential conflicts for each author.

  3. Funding Sources: Declare all funding sources with relevant details.

  4. Ethics: Provide evidence of approval from a local ethics committee for human/animal studies.

  5. Patient Rights: Confirm informed consent for publication and state its acquisition.

  6. Clinical Trial Registry: Include registration numbers for clinical trials.

  7. Copyright Agreement: Ensure submission is not published elsewhere and be prepared to sign a copyright transfer agreement if accepted.

  8. Galley Proofs: Ensure timely return of proofs once received.
